Robert & Lesley Moon bought "La Petite Barre" in December 2006. La Petite Barre was built in 1853 and has been a working farm since then. The farm was sold to us with 10 hectares (25 acres) and the buildings. The main building, with it's 50cm walls is known as a Longere (long house). The main living area has 2 good sized bedrooms and a 45m2 lounge to lose ourselves in. In winter we snuggle up to the massive fireplace which can accommodate logs up to 1.5m long!
We are constantly renovating and updating the house, we currently have 2 charming chambre d'hotes and eventually, when the world has more money, we would like to convert the out-buildings into Gites. We have recently installed geothermal heating, therefore all our water and heating comes from the ground. We try to be as green as possible!
The 10 Hectares is currently divided into growing hay in the summer and for grazing in the winter. The rest of the land is dedicated to our llamas!
